Last Chance to Register for the 2023 ODOT/ACEC Ohio Partnering Conference

Join Us for Our Partnering Conference Social Event

As part of the Partnering Conference, a social event will be held the night before the conference on May 16 from 5-7 PM at GasWerks located at 487 Park St, Columbus, OH 43215. Attendees will NOT need to register for the social event.

Join your peers and clients on May 17, at the Ohio Union for a day of partnership between our organizations to promote cooperation between the public and private sectors. We will also be honoring the winners of the 2023 Partnering Awards!  Click here to register! 

This year's agenda includes the opportunity to attend 2 of 5 break-out sessions:

Breakout session 1: Snowballing Challenges; How Do We Get it Done?

With an increase in transportation funding through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act groups will discuss challenging workload scenarios we face presently, in the future, and strategies for developing future workplace leaders.

Moderators: Jim Shea (Chagrin Valley Engineering) & Stephanie Otten (ODOT D8)

Breakout session 2: Survey Says…Hot Topics!

We asked ODOT and consultants for their top answers to a few hot topics. Survey says…this is a must-attend session. This session will be a Family Feud style answers and discussion of some of the hottest topics for ODOT and ACEC members.

Moderators: Kristin Studabaker (Carpenter Marty Transportation) & Susan Stehle (ODOT)

Breakout session 3: Find, Develop, Win!

This session will explore what it takes to find the right teaming partner and win projects with an DBE/EDGE Development Goal. We will also discuss set-aside projects – SBE, DBE and EDGE.

Moderators: Chad Root (ODOT D4), Amy Schmidt (Fishbeck) & Laurie Adams (DGL Consulting Engineers)

Breakout session 4: Construction Lessons Learned from ODOT Partnering with the Industry

Discussion of ATC’s, VECP’s and construction claims with real-world examples and lessons learned from procurement through construction including the use of partnering.

Moderators: Chase Wells (ODOT) & Joe Bolzenius (The Mannik & Smith Group)

Breakout session 5: I’m Tired and Overworked

The process to hire consultants has evolved over time, but it has evolved into a time-intensive process for both ODOT and consultants. This session will explore and brainstorm possible alternatives to our traditional programmatic process.

Moderators: Julie Gwinn (ODOT D5) & Katie Zehnder (HNTB)
